    E.F.E.S.

     

    Description: Our aim is to provide environmental awareness, environmental management and sustainable development training in our institutions. With a participatory approach, students in schools will both learn about environmental issues and play an active role in raising awareness of their families, local governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on environmental issues.

     

    Language: English

     

    Participants: 8-15

     

    Subjects: nature, social studies, geography, science,

     

    Aims: Students will;

    • develop a new identity and be a member of a group,
    • form a participatory structure used in group work,
    • improves the ability to recognize problems, produce solutions, and discuss,
    • change their consumption habits, extravagance is prevented,
    • develops awareness of protecting natural resources,

     

    The institutions will;

    • make cleaning and ordering continuous,
    • provide water and electricity saving by the student,
    • be owned by students,
    • be recognized locally, nationally or even internationally,

     

    Project time: From October 2019 to June 2020.

     

    Work process: We will do project activities according to the plan below.

     

    1. activities:

    • Introducing yourself and your school
    • Selecting the students who will take part in the project actively.
    • Describing the tasks.
    • Logo and slogans activities
    • Communcation ways; whatsapp, facebook or other social media.
    • Creating a survey about the Project
    • Creating project pages

     

    2. activities:

    • Informing the school, students and parents about eco-schools,
    • Planning of “Paper Waste Collection” and informing students about it,
    • Initiating of “Waste Battery Collection”

     

    3. activities:

    • Informing about types of waste and dangerous waste.
    • Preparing english slogans on energy and water saving
    • Making origami from waste papers

    • card making and exchange of waste materials

    4. activities:

    • Making pouch paper making from old newspapers and magazines,
    • Making and exhibiting ornaments from waste materials
    • Celebrating on Energy Saving Week

    5. activities:

    • Exhibiting on the board interesting news in newspaper and magazines in the world and in our countries about “Environment and Wastes”,
    • Taking pictures about negative environmental images in our city,
    • Doing two and three dimensional studies with waste materials (making puppet and vehicle)

     

    6. activities:

    • Celebrating World Water Day
    • Writing songs and stories on environment and wastes
    • Growing flowers in pots in our classes
    • Celebrating 21 March international Forest Day

     

    7. activities:

    • Evaluating the Project
    • Common and collaborative work
    • Last surveys for teachers, students and parents.

     

     

    Expected results:

    We will create an e-story about recycle which all partners will contribute. We will produce many things made by waste materials. Our students will have active roles in this project so, this will make them feel precious while learning by doing. And also with this project, pupils will be more sensitive to the environment and nature.
