For our first trip we chose the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, which is located near Brno's centre not far from our school. The garden was founded in 1922 by Josef Podpěra, the first Professor of Botany at the newly established Masaryk University (founded in 1919).

We visited greenhouses with the following collections: the tropical collection, the collection of ferns and cycads, the subtropical and Mediterranean collection and the collection of cactuses and other succulents. 

At the time of our visit, the Exhibition of exotic birds, guinea pigs and other pets (e.g. chameleon) took place in the greenhouses.
