New Erasmus + Corner in Croatia

Due to the new spatial changes in our school, we decided to move the Erasmus + corner to a new location. Although small, this new place, with its challenging position required new organization ideas. There was a need for some additional repairs related to electricity, lights and the seating area. This is where the most challenging and the most labour-intensive part actually began.

Teacher Ivana Dolaček donated four old comfortable chairs and they required a lot of work in order to shine again with the old splendour.  Despite the current specific epidemiological measures, pupils immediately began to organize and without hesitation worked for several days staying at school after their regular classes.

First, the group of pupils from class 8 c disassembled the chairs and sanded them. Then the other group of eight graders cleaned, painted, upholstered and assembled the chairs on two occasions. Many of these pupils had for the first time the opportunity to develop sanding, painting and upholstery skills and they greatly expanded them while having fun at the same time.

We were all thrilled with the results of the renovation work on these old chairs so the pupils were jokingly getting offers for some even more serious work.

The work and commitment of all the participants, at first of the teachers Ivana Dolaček and Mirko Andrić, of many eighth graders and finally of the school support staff who selflessly helped, showed once again that the Croatian proverb  "The unity builds the house" is true. (In English: By wisdom, the house is built. )                     

The new Erasmus + corner will certainly become a new point of interest in our school and a place where students will be able to get more information about the Erasmus + programme, find and exchange books or simply relax sitting on these comfortable chairs.

The Greek School launched the Erasmus + Corner in the 4th Gymnasion of Preveza , organising a live event with our partners and preparing motos for the protection of Environment !!!
