  • MASCOTS EXCHANGE (2018 – 19)

    Introduction

    Our Project is created to increase the awareness of our cultural heritage.

    We will use different methods to share our culture.

    The school's mascot will travel to the other schools and experience a regular week there together with the other students to see similarities and differences.

    Oral communication among partners will be present in some different activities, although despite the fact that children are at early ages, communication will be by videos presenting themselves, saying hello, presenting their favourite toys or meals, etc. If timetables match we will skype.

     

    Aims

    •We will Increase the awareness of our cultural heritage and the importance of language and Communication through different methods and activities.

    •We want to develop and increase understanding against each other by enlightening the students of similarities and talk about our differences in order to establish a European identity and aspect.

    •Become aware and get an understanding of other countries and cultures.

    •We want them to develop a better knowledge of themselves and to others in order to feel affinity across the borders.

    •The children will write simple texts, both by hand and using digital tools.

    •By combining their texts with images, the child can clarify and strengthen their messages.

    •The child will straighten their language through talk and tell about everyday events.

     

    Process of work

    Ending February – half March:

    Before sending mascots, children stick some information about themselves in the project diary book. This diary will be sent in order to document the mascots travel in the other school.

    We will write, take photos, film and document our regular days together with the mascot.

    The students will send their mascot to another school and they will receive one. Mascots will rotate in order to visit all three countries.

    Romania will start with sending to Sweden

    Sweden to Spain

    and Spain to Romania  

     

    Ending March – half April:

    - Children present themselves by a video saying hello and adding what is his/her favourite toy or game. They can also bring toys of games from home at classroom for the video.

    - Children participate in adding his/her favourite toy in a common table shared by DRIVE. We will see what the preferred toy from all three schools is.

    - Record children playing two different games they usually play in the playground. The other schools can try to play to it.

     

    Ending April - half May:

     - Children will be recorded presenting his/her favourite book. They can show it and say the name.

    - Teachers will create a collage with all the books chosen by children.

    Ending May:

    - Children create a happy summer card.

    Share stories and tales that is usually read in our country.

    Note:

    -When the mascot travels home it will bring back a souvenir from the country the mascot has visit.

    -Try to find a common hour to create an eTwinning LIVE where children can say hello and share songs.

    -We will document every task in Twinspace pages and share it at our preschool in a common "Project corner"

    -Parents’ permission must be signed before uploading children images.

     

    Results

    The purpose of our activities is to lead to the objectives in an inspiring way.

    Through cultural education, we aim to improve and provide a high level of knowledge in pre-school and to create European citizens who respect other humans and Cultures.

     

    Expected results:

    Creation of an eTwinning project page

    Creation of a project’s diary book to document mascots travel (one for each school), that will remain in the classroom library.

    Have a bigger cultural offer at our preschool by having books from other countries available.

    Creation of a project corner.

    Video presentation by children.

    Common table about favourite toys.

    Video of games played by children. Presentation by the teacher by using genially, ppt, slideshare, canva or others.
