SUSTAINABLE POETRY AND FILMS FROM THE 6TH GENERAL LYCEUM OF LARISSA

  • I start through a short film my students created about the pollution of the sea and of water almost one year ago and they were awarded for it with the first prize in a school short film competition in our region. It took me some time to translate it. The whole thing,THE IDEA, poetic words, research for the ancient myth of Medusa, paintings, film, montage, recitation etc were made in the school's library during two days and the simultanous working groups were working for three hours a day.

I will also present to you and invite you to our blog where me and my students create poems about sustainability. We are already created a lot of poems in Greek which I will translate and share with you through the blog. In fact we are inspired by the numerous indigenious flowers of Greece. Greece, as you may know, thanks to its multiple ecosystems on its beautiful islands, is the most ancient and the richest botanical garden of Europe and we plead to be helped so it continues to be.

Poetry for a Sustainable Future / Greece: Europe's Ancient Botanic Garden

  • Write poems about indigenious flowers of your country too, or interact with us freely.

  • Do you think that Europe should urgently support financially and scientifically the Greek indigenious plants treasure to be preserved and returned back to its genuine ecosystems as also push Greek government to vote the adequate laws which will protect the Greek indigenious plants?
Yes, it is something very important the whole Europe should take care of

Yes, but Greece is the only one who should be pushed by Europe to take care of it financially, scientifically and politically, in fact it is Greece's problem

Perhaps this should be done in other circumstances, but not now there are bigger problems in Europe to be financed and resolved as the migration problem or the unemployment.

No, definitely. Greece has many depths to pay to Europe. No financial help should be given for no matter the reason to Greece.

Europe shouldn't help Greece financially, only scientifically or politically.

I don't think the Odyssey of the Greek indigenious plants is an important problem Europe should be involved.

I don' t know. I don't care. I don't think this has something to do with sustainability.
