The Itinerary must follow the order of presentation of the following spaces:

The Palace - the building where the Secondary School of Antero de Quental currently operates until 1829, the Paço dos Condes de Vila Franca, and from that date onwards, owned by the 1st Baron of Fonte Bella, Jacinto Inácio Rodrigues da Silveira, who ordered him to be built. In 1921 the Lyceum of Ponta Delgada was transferred to the palace of Fonte Bella, where it remains until the present.
The construction of the Palace began in 1830, unknown to the author of his project. The Palace has a parallelepipedic structure and rises to two floors, the first for the service area and the second for the social area and dependencies of the owners. It consists of two symmetrical wings, one to the east and the other to the west, and a central body facing south and surmounted in the center by a turret that breaks the horizontality of the building. In the south façade stand out two monumental neoclassical portals that give access to the patio that flanks the main façade facing the west and the nascent courtyard, of the service, designated by Deer yard. The north facade is bordered by a garden.

O Palácio -  o edifício onde funciona atualmente a Escola Secundária Antero de Quental foi até 1829 o Paço dos Condes de Vila Franca e a partir dessa data, propriedade do 1º Barão da Fonte Bella, Jacinto Inácio Rodrigues da Silveira, que o mandou construir. Em 1921 o Liceu de Ponta Delgada foi transferido para o palácio da Fonte Bella, onde permanece até ao presente.

A construção do Palácio teve início em 1830, desconhecendo-se o autor do seu projeto. O Palácio tem uma estrutura paralelepipédica e ergue-se à altura de dois pisos, o primeiro destinado à zona de serviço e o segundo à zona social e dependências dos proprietários. É constituído por duas alas simétricas, uma a nascente e outra a poente, e um corpo central virado a sul e encimado no centro por um torreão que quebra a horizontalidade do edifício. Na fachada sul destacam-se dois monumentais portais neoclássicos que dão acesso ao pátio que ladeia a fachada principal virada a poente e ao pátio nascente, da serventia, designado por Pátio da Veada. A fachada norte é delimitada por um jardim.

Hall - Main entrance of the Palace, with basalt stone floor, decorated with geometric motifs, from which part a staircase that gives access to the first floor. In the ceiling of this stand out painted the initials of the Baron of the Source Bella: OBDFG

Saguão – entrada principal do Palácio, com pavimento em pedra basáltica, decorado com motivos geométricos, a partir da qual parte uma escadaria que dá acesso ao primeiro piso. No teto desta destacam-se pintadas as iniciais do Barão da Fonte Bella: OBDFG

Entrance Hall - the current teachers' hall and Dr. Aristides Moreira da Mota Library, was the reception room for the guests to the Palace. It has paintings on the walls and ceiling in trompe l'oeil, standing out in the center of the last Coat of Arms of the 3rd Baron and 2nd Count of the Fountain Bella.

Sala de Entrada – atual sala de professores e Biblioteca Dr. Aristides Moreira da Mota, era a sala de receção dos convidados ao Palácio. Possuiu pinturas nas paredes e no teto em trompe l’oeil, destacando-se no centro do último o Brasão de Armas do 3º Barão e 2º Conde da Fonte Bella.

Blue and Red Rooms - currently classrooms, were rooms to receive guests with painted walls and ceilings, respectively in shades of blue and red.

Salas Azul e Vermelha – atualmente salas de aulas, eram salas para receber convidados com paredes e tetos pintados, respetivamente em tons de azul e vermelho.

Chapel Hall - currently the classroom, was the oratory of the Palace where the family gathered for the sacred offices, holding of weddings and baptisms and for recollection. The altar niche and the golden ceiling with tempera paintings stand out in this room.

Sala da Capela – atualmente sala de aula, era o oratório do Palácio onde a família se reunia para os ofícios sagrados, realização de casamentos e batizados e para recolhimento. Destacam-se nesta sala o nicho do altar e o teto dourado com pinturas a têmpera.

Large Room - current Library, was the noble hall and ballroom of the Palace. This large room, when it received the social events of the palace, was connected to the contiguous rooms, dilating the space until the room of the chapel. It also had connection to the large dining room, from the outside, through two doors that open to the balcony. In this space, the paintings stand out from the ceiling to temper, where, painted with oil, stand out the "baroque children".

Sala Grande – atual Biblioteca, era o salão nobre e sala de baile do Palácio. Esta sala, de grande dimensão, quando recebia os acontecimentos sociais do palácio ligava-se às salas contíguas, dilatando-se o espaço até à sala da capela. Possuía também ligação à sala de jantar grande, pelo exterior, através de duas portas que se abrem para o balcão. Neste espaço, destacam-se as pinturas do teto a têmpera, onde, pintados a óleo, sobressaem os “putos abarrocados”.

Office - former office of the palace, it currently owns a permanent exhibition of the painter Domingos Rebelo.

Escritório – antigo escritório do palácio, possuiu atualmente uma exposição permanente do pintor Domingos Rebelo.

Turret - currently working rooms, is a space that by its height, imposes itself in the landscape of the city of Ponta Delgada. It was the place that served to see the whole city and especially the sea and the arrival of boats to the port. This space has three floors, all of them flanked by windows.

Torreão – atualmente salas de trabalho, é um espaço que pela sua altura, se impõe na paisagem da cidade de Ponta Delgada. Era o lugar que servia para avistar toda a cidade e principalmente o mar e a chegada de barcos ao porto. Este espaço possui três pisos, sendo todos eles ladeados de janelas.

Large Dining Room - currently the Physics Laboratory, was the richest space in the palace where banquets and dinners were held. Here you can see the painted walls and ceilings and the large wooden cabinet built into the wall.

Sala de Jantar Grande – atualmente laboratório de Física, era o espaço mais rico do palácio onde se realizavam banquetes e jantares. Aqui destacam-se as paredes e tetos pintados e o grande armário de madeira embutido na parede.

Kitchens - currently rooms and laboratories of Physics and Chemistry, have two chimneys, one of them of great dimensions, fact that attests the great movement of the old kitchens, consequence of the great social activity of the palace.

Cozinhas – atualmente salas e laboratórios de Física e Química, possuem duas chaminés, uma delas de grandes dimensões, facto que atesta o grande movimento das antigas cozinhas, consequência da grande atividade social do palácio.

Garden - it extends along the entire north façade of the building and brings together native and exotic specimens, with emphasis on the latter. It has geometrized beds, a sinuous cutout tank in red volcanic slag with a fountain in the center. The garden is separated from the Palace by a wall and in this there are doors that give access to the Courtyard of Contemplation, old garden, the Cistern, the Cats Courtyard  and the west Courtyard. In the garden there is also an iron staircase that gives access to the first floor of the palace.

Jardim – estende-se ao longo de toda a fachada norte do edifício e reúne exemplares autóctones e exóticos, com destaque para os últimos. Possui canteiros geometrizados, um tanque de recorte sinuoso em escória vulcânica vermelha com um repuxo no centro. O jardim é separado do Palácio por um muro e neste existem portas que dão acesso ao Pátio da Contemplação, antigo horto, à Cisterna, ao Pátio das Gatas e ao pátio poente. No jardim existe também uma escadaria em ferro que dá acesso ao 1º piso do palácio.
