The European Parliament of Children

In this project we' d like to create a fake European Parliament, of which all students will be members and represent all 27 member countries. They 'll vote for the European Council, elect a President and a Prime Minister, and then propose laws to improve some aspects of the EU and vote for them. To achieve this, students divided into nine international groups, will find information on the EU history , read up on its political and administrative bodies, gather information on the member countries; each group will represent three countries of the Union in Parliament and will use this information to create jigsaws, questionnaires, posters and presentations for the other groups. Each group will collaborate through video conferences, forums, chats and shared documents. The aim is to make students reflect on the role of the EU and of European citizens, to promote the spirit of active participation in a democratic community to promote democratic values in respect of cultural diversity
