Agrupamento de escolas Penafiel Sudeste (Penafiel Sudeste School Cluster) is located in the north of Portugal,in a semi-rural neighbourhood. Overall the School Cluster has got about 1224 students,117 teachers.The school has implemented specific teaching strategies for Maths,Portuguese and English such as grouping students in small groups.At the same time, has also organised a team of extra teachers to go in some classes and help the main teacher with pupils showing learning difficulties.

The school is involved in some eTwinning projects, as well the school is also involved in The National Reading Plan, Health Education, National Network of Libraries, Sports Club among others.The school’s Educational Project aims to develop projects in diversified areas in order to provide students with key skills for life and ensure a compromise attitude regarding school failure and early school leaving. This is the necessity that our school has pinpointed for better chances for our students: development of relevant skills to succeed in life and in a career. The school’s social and economic context is very poor: they have low income and lower family qualifications,reflecting a significant unemployment rate due to the actual economic crisis.That’s why the school is working to make young people a good future and European projects will possible improve students’ success both academic and personal.İt is also relevant the present geopolitical and immigration problems and the current change in the European space.For a better future, children need to grow up with common values and with a sense of belonging not only to their countries but also to the European Union.Implementing this project students will achieve better orientation and understanding of the diversity of the world as well as a positive attitude to the European community and values.
