  • Stories about Minibeasts

    Short description

    3 kindergartens together with twin mascots – cats, learn about Minibeasts in the neighbourhood their kindergartens. Children learn how to make stories about Minibeasts , using different technics they will reproduce Minibeasts, seeking information about nature and art in books and web recources. Pupils together with teachers using different ICT tools make animation films about Minibeasts, learn Story coding.

    Goals for pupils
    • To take active part in exploring nature in many ways together with mascots and other pupils, using books given by teachers and parents;
    • To learn and enjoy  nature and art lessons and outcome  of a collaborative and sharing artwork;
    • Build confidence to perform own artwork;
    • To learn Story Coding.
    Goals for teachers
    • To let pupils find their own way and support pupils artistic and enginering skills. Explore materials and ways how they can be used. 
    • To support children’s progress in nature and art lessons
    •  Learn to use StopMotion or other animation tool 
    Content
    • November - Pupils from each partner school start to make Minibeasts and drawings from garden or park, using natural materials and other materials. They send one Minibeast to each partner school.  
    • December/January -First month in partner schools pupils make story and Minibeast and decorations for animation film  Part 1.
    • February -Second Month Part 2. Minibeast have a problem and other schools Minibeasts help solve the problem.
    • The End of film. Pupils feedback about their story, about frienship…
    • March - Learn programming and Story Coding.
    • April/May - Film performance online, Skype conferences with pupils
    Other activities:
    •  Each partner upload pupils’ work of each phase on a Twinspace. 
    • eTwinning project stand: Project stand displays project teams and mascots, timetable and how Project work.
    • Minibeast and other materials:  Send  the Minibeast by the post to the partner school. 
    • Sites used: we upload all the sites we visited with our pupils and believe are worth to be shared – games, virtual museums, art lessons, sites for inspiration.
    • Museums-exhibitions-art schools-artist galeries,ectr: we share a photo with a short description concerning Art -  what and when we visited in our country.
    • Skype meetings: We do Skype meetings with partner school after finishing work on each Part. 
    • Seasonal Greetings cards: We post card to partner school on Christmas and Easter
    English language Pupils learn useful words and phrases in English for communication on Skype between schools

    Parent’s Permission Form Every parent sign a Parent’s Permission form for letting his child participating in project and allow to use internet and work with computer and publish and share  their children photos, films and artworks.
    Outcomes Working on story separately and together, making drawings, animation characters  and producing films online.
