FINAL CEREMONY OF THE WERS LANGUAGE CONTEST
Poetry and drama contest WERS - Common Europe on Stage for schools in Warsaw area was organised by Polish school for the first time in order to promote language teaching and communications skills in students. It wasn't a planned earlier project activity but it was inspired by the project objectives (new methods of teaching). What is more, we decided to use it as great means of informing local school about the project.
The contest had two separate categories - poetry and drama. In poetry students in two age groups prepared a poem in one of three possible languages - German, French and Spanish. In drama category students had to write and then show a 10 minute play in English. The contest was a great success with more than 10 schools participating.
The final ceremony to which headmasters of participating schools as well as local authorities were invited took place on the 28th of March. During the ceremony the project was presented in detail as well as pictures and reportage from the mobility in Italy were displayed.
