Teachers from Turkey (the coordinating country) and all partner schools in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Poland met at Siauliai Stasys Salkauskis gymnasium in the town of Siauliai, Lithuania.
The five days of the LTT (learning, training, teaching) meeting only for school staff has been intense and full of different STEAM activities especially concentrating on Tinkercad program, 3D printing, ARDUINO, LEGO MINDSTORM EV3 in various lessons.
On the first day partners were welcomed to our school and had a tour around it (given by our students). They were introduced to Lithuanian educational system, our school strategy, etc.
There were two work sessions. The first one was given by coordinators about integration of "Arduino and EV3" in Science classes.
In the second workshop coordinators from Turkey and we, Lithuanians, introduced how to construct some "EV3 Advanced robots", which students will do during this school year. Our students presented and demonstrated "Puppy dog" and "Elephant robot".
The other days were devoted to 3D printing, plotting and designing objects for lessons, etc.
One day our student Modestas together with the technology and IT teachers introduced Tinkercad program, explained how to plot the objects. All teachers, taking part in this LTT meeting, had to design a 3D object, which was printed later.
While the other day teachers were producing lesson plans. The purpose was to integrate their 3D printed materials and present how these objects could be used in different subject lessons (Math, Science, History, English, etc.) and for what goal.
On the last day of the LTT we had a facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method, International Education Counsellor Roman Šarpanov who presented how LEGO bricks can be used in any subject to promote STEAM learning and motivate students. Also, teachers had a visit to a modern computerized industrial company "ROL/Statga" where FANUCA robots are used.
Despite the hard work, partners also got acquainted with our culture, local chocolate factory "Ruta", historical places of Siauliai and Lithuania.
Also as on 4th of October we celebrated International teachers day, our guests took part in the same celebration organized by our students.
Our LTT finished with farewell dinner and certificate award ceremony.
