The Giuseppe Garibaldi Agricultural Institute  is situated in a rural area in the suburbs of Macerata, just 5-minute drive from the city centre.

The school has a 70-hectare farm  and a boarding school which is a good support since the majority of the pupils come from very distant places. 

The IIS 'G. Garibaldi 'is constantly engaged in the design, implementation and dissemination of projects focusing on its area in collaboration with schools, organizations, associations and companies in Italy and abroad, dedicated to both students (also pupils with special educational needs ), and teachers.

The school can also  boost  a team of qualified teachers who are capable of dealing with problems arousing from  learning difficulties and who have  successfully tried to promote integration of pupils with special needs. Over the years there have been many initiatives in order to give students an up-to-date secondary school education, a greater awareness of European culture, values,  how other communities live and to support their growth and development into well - balanced and tolerant citizens of the world.

The students  attending this school are 14 - 18 of age and all of them with a passion for everything concerning nature, animals, farming...The students (24 ) involved in this project are 14 and come from different places in the province of Macerata. They are lively , sometimes too lively, but eager to learn and ready to deal with real tasks instead of doing  boring grammar exercises or just pretending to have a penpal and write him/her a letter. I think this kind of projects can be the best answer to their needs and expectations.
