It is widely known that Europe needs more young people to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects and careers in order to become part of a much-needed qualified workforce in the upcoming years. To achieve that, it is recommended that we encourage our children`s interest and curiosity starting in their earliest years of life. ESA has come to our aid by creating a friend for our students: Paxi -the alien. He is guiding us through the mysteries of the Universe, using attractive and accessible methods. The Universe knows no boundaries. The animals, plants, minerals, air, water, planets and all celestial bodies constitute a whole. There is a strong bond tying them and therefore we must create a start up point for the students’ skills in future research, to teach them how to ask questions, analyze, find solutions and experiment in a creative way. Our students are intelligent and curious, active and interested in using technology. That’s the perfect time to transform computer gaming into something useful, showing them how to create their own virtual activities and programs. By enhancing their skills and helping them with their first steps on the path of programming, we can create a perfect opportunity for their own future. My partners and I intend to involve students in interesting activities, in order to make them want to discover the mysteries of the Universe. That’s the reason that determined me to initiate this new educational project.
