Once there was a boy called Larry. The boy was very keen on pigeons. He spent hours in the park where he was watching and feeding those fantastic birds. Their feathers were amazing – they looked like a rainbow. These were the times when pigeons could be watched only in the parks. No one could touch them or take them home.

When Larry grew up, he got married and Larry’s beautiful daughter was born. Her name was Maya. The girl, like her father, became fascinated by the pigeons. She wished she could have one of them only for herself and begged her father to bring her one.

Larry knew that it was forbidden to take the pigeon home but he wanted his daughter to be happy at all costs. At night he sneaked into the park, stole one of the pigeons and got back home. While he was taking his prey from the bag, a strange figure came out. It started to get bigger and bigger and finally it turned out that it was a pigeon witch.

“How dare you come to the park and steal my pigeons! “, the furious woman shouted. She was wearing a black dress and her face was terrible.” Do you realize what you have done? You are not allowed to take my pigeons and you know that if you do you will be punished! That is why I put a curse on you till the rest of your life”, she kept screaming.

As a punishment she changed Larry into a white pigeon. He had no colors because of his terrible act. Then the witch disappeared. Maya took the pigeon from the floor. She was looking at it for a moment when suddenly the pigeon flew out of the window. She never saw it again.

    Child with Pidgeon

One day a little girl found a pidgeon that was injured. He wanted to help the poor animal and brought it home.

When they both arrived at home she fed the pidgeon and also organized something it could drink.

She immediately built a bed made of straw and hay and the pidgeon could be safe. The girl gave it a name: PETTY.

The next day the girl talked to her best friend and told her about the bird. They all were really excited and wanted to see the bird.

when the girl went home the bird was gone. She searched for him in the entire house. She went to the kitchen, sadly missing her little friend. And when she entered the room she suddenly saw the pidgeon on the kitchen table. Her parents had found the bird and put it in her room. She was afraid of her parents and thought they might send the pidgeon away from her.

But instead of urging her to give away the poor pidgeon they said: „We’ll allow you  to keep the bird over the winter season. He will not find anything outside. So feed him and then we‘ll have to see the vet first!“

The next day they drove the pidgeon to the veterinarian. He examined the little bird and saw that he was ok, but couldn‘t yet get out yet.He received medication over the winter and when finally spring came the little girl went with the bird to a meadow and set him free. He flew away.

The next morning there was a really great surprise: the pidgeon was back and passed the morning with the girl‘s family.“ What a wonderful world!“

In Spain a seven-year-old girl named Maria was diagnosed with cancer one year ago and she was rejected by everyone. Maria  had a complex about her hair because she had almost no more left. She was shy and discreet. Everyday she suffered from mockery and harassing threats because of her illness. Maria no longer went to school but every other week she had a teacher coming to her home.
The girl was also rejected by her mother who didn't care about her daughter's illness. Besides her parents were divorcing and the little girl lived with her father Pierro, 40, a baker who worked in a bakery and so the little Maria was alone at home with her childminder, Sofia Siete Del Ranucci who looked after her everyday except Sunday from 6 a.m to 6 p.m. Sofia was 25, she was tall, severe, polite but had weird ways like hating animals to the point of killing them and other weird ways too.
One day young Maria decided to go out to play with her ball and suddnely she turned round and saw an unconscious dove on the ground. She decided to tell her about all her problems.
    - Dove, my life is sad. Everyone rejects me and even my mother who is supposed to support me, to be by my side does not love me. My pain will never disappear and I will just learn to live with it.
Maria thought the dove had answered her.
    - Life is sad when one is alone. Dove, don't worry I'll save you. My childminder will help us, she said to the dove.
And so the sad girl went home to see her childminder and ask her if she could cure the dove.
    - Sofia, look at the dove in my hands, can you look after her ?
    - Maria !!! I'm going to throw this creature away !
    - But Sofia, help me save her, please ! Maria exclaimed sadly.
    - Maria, that's enough ! Either you throw it away or I'll kill it myself.
    - You're so bad, I'll tell my father and you'll be fired !
    - Are you serious ?
So the nanny was annoyed, she didn't want to lose her job but there was an animal in front of her and she hated animals. She took a knife in the kitchen and came back to the living-room to stab Maria.
    - Maria, I'm going to end your suffering !
    - I didn't do anything to you, but whatever happens my father will be here in ten minutes, the little girl exclaimed. She was in tears.
Sofia stabbed poor Maria who was still holding the dove in her hands. The childminder managed to escape through the garden. The father arrived five minutes later and he found his daughter bleeding on the floor. She was holding a dove in her hands.
    - Maria, Maria, he was crying, don't go without me, I love you and I will always love you.
    - I have no choice, if I don't die now, I will die soon and the most painful goodbyes are those which have never been pronounced or never explained, were Maria's last words.

    And so Maria was DEAD.
