We plan to introduce our pedagogs and children to the concept of QR codes through a treasure hunt to find picture clues for the song we will record. We will record the song in our own language, create a QR code for it and send it to our partner country via email. The children will not know what the QR code is for or who it is from, but after listening to the recording, they will guess the language/country. The children /pedagogs will be given a few QR code clues (prepared by the teacher from that country) to correctly identify the country. The children will talk about what they know about the country and what they would like to find out. We will encourage parents to contribute their knowledge and ideas as well. We will use this information to plan for a video call which will give us the opportunity to answer the children’s questions with as many visual aids as possible e.g. flags, food. The children and teachers can decidethis learning experience will take them next.
