What is coding?

Today we started to grasp the term of coding whit our group of five year olds.
I told them that coding is something we do all the time and made the parable that it is a recipe. It tells us how to make something.

Our kids love to make bracelets and necklaces and this was an easy start.
Before they start threading the beads they have to make the code they will use.
By using a stencil with 10 markings they can make a code by choosing what colors to use.

When the code is ready the can start to read the cod and translate it into a necklace or a bracelet.
