Kielce University of Technology

  • On Thursday, our group went to the Institute Kielce Universyty of Technology. There, we had a great opportunity to integrate as well as proceed with the project activities.

    PHYSICAL REFLEX

On the spot we did many exercises and activities. Among these were the physical stamina or the reflex. The question of strength and its importance was raised,as strength is required to perform basic functional movements in our life. When it comes to the reaction time test we performed it using a ruler and calculating. That was an interesting science project. That test uses the known properties of gravity to determine how long it takes a person to respond to the dropping of an object by measuring how far the object can fall before being caught. The teachers checked our reflexes so that we could learn of our response time.

    THERMOGRAPHY

They measured our pressure before and after our manual effort and and our timescale during the fitness exercises. We were given a chance to use infrared thermography.

One of the issues we discussed in the project was infrared thermography in sport. If we were to give an example we could mention the applicability of swimming style on the cartography of cutaneous temperature of a swimmer. Another example concerns the use of thermography in cycling activities. We were concerned with the assessment of sports performance due to the existing link between physical fitness and thermoregulation and the analysis of heat transfer for sports garments and sports equipment.Infrared thermography was discussed as a fast and easy to use tool ,the ability to deliver accurate and repeatable measurements is an important question. The academic doctor gave us useful information on the topic in question. We were given a chance to house infrared thermography which detected heat patterns in the infrared wave-length spectrum that are not visible to the unaided eye.Two students were performing a few activities measured and portrayed in the infrared thermography camera.

    POWER RUNNING UPSTAIRS

When somebody runs upstairs, he/she spends energy in moving his/her body to an upper level. This is called the Gravitational Potential Energy which is calculated with the person's mass and the height climbed. If we consider also the time needed to get upstairs, then we obtain the Power exerted by this body when moving.

A group of 4 students ran upstairs a certain height while the required parameters were measured. After that, the power developed by each student was worked out.
