The first international project meeting was held in the city of Birmingham from 28 February to 5 March 2016. The meeting was prepared by the teachers of the Birmingham Metropolitan College, with an intensive programme of activities for the students (programme of activities). The schedule included visites and project works at the college, as well as cultural sightseeing in Birmingham. Apart from that, the art projects discussed on the Twinspace forums were finished and publicly exhibited.
The exhibition place was Stryx, an artist led studio, project and exhibition space in Digbeth, Birmingham. Formed by Fine Art graduates in 2012, Stryx is formed of individual practitioners who work together to foster a diverse range of events, exhibitions and projects both in and outside their studio space. Furthermore, Stryx seeks to initiate and develop regional and national artistic collaborations in order to promote and strengthen an accessible and vibrant network of ideas and practices.
The artworks in display were the projects developed by the international students teams during the months before the meetings. The six projects were about human rights and used ICT art media:
