Project work

  •                                 Project activities - step by step

Dear partners and friends, I decided to write a few notes about our project work to make clear all the steps of our project. First at all, I am extremely happy to see all of you here. My friend Svetla Popova and I have already participated in an Easter project, which was awarded with European quality label. We have a lot of ready to use materials for Easter activities: writing, reading, colouring pages, games and crafts, that you can find uploaded in our project. This year our partner Gerty Boen from Belgium accepted the invitation for registering the new Easter project. I hope to have unforgettable time here together with our students.

Step One: “Hello, eTwinners!” is for getting to know each other. Make a short presentation and introduce your students, school and country.

Step two: Sharing Easter traditions and collecting  the most interesting and curious facts about Easter.

In the previous Easter project, we have already made presentations about Easter traditions in Europe. It is not necessary to make the same presentations again. So that we can insert the link of our Easter blog where you can read and present our traditions to your kids.

In this project we are going to collect some interesting facts about Easter in our country. Our idea is to involve parents in the project activities. Please, encourage children to ask their parents about some curious facts connected with Easter celebration in your country and then write ONE(the most interesting) on the Padlet wall.

On the second Padlet wall, please  upload one traditional Easter dish. We are going to create Easter European table.(upload an image and a short description of the dish)

Step three: Easter symbols, making children’s Easter books.

In this step you should introduce to children Easter symbols in your native language and if it is possible in English. Children should create their own Easter Book(The pages of this books are up to you. If you want, it can be colouring book or book with crosswords, Easter poems…it depends on the age of the children.

Step four: International Art contest “It’s Easter” for handmade Easter cards.

Every country must prepare Easter card for all partners. It must be one Easter card with the same image. Every partner must send its handmade card to other partners. If we are 10 partners, you must send your Easter card to 9 partners and you will receive 9 cards from other countries. Then we are going to vote and award the cards. We would like to award all participants, so we are going to divide our awards in categories.

Step five: International Art contest “Easter Eggs” for online designed eggs.

Our students are going to make Easter eggs using an online game. Save all students images of the eggs, vote in your class or group for one that will take part in our competition. Each country will present ONE designed Easter egg for the competition. Children will be jury and they are going to decide which egg will be the winner.

Please, create the eggs with this online game and save them as an image:

    Step six: creating  the logo.

I will upload an image of an egg. Every teacher must download it and colour it with the colours of your national flags. The idea is to have eggs with our flags and to create the logo with them. Please, use Paint to colour your eggs.

    Step seven: Easter flower garden.

Create a small area in your classroom with the flowers that blossom in spring. Be imaginative and make your spring garden as you like it: from handmade flowers or colouring pages…or…something else! It’s up to you!

Step eight: “Easter Magic” Exhibitions(virtual and school exhibition).

Make Easter crafts and show them in a school(or classroom) exhibition. Try to involve your colleagues in this activity. I know that each class is going to prepare some crafts for Easter. The best of your crafts will be presented in an online international exhibition.

Meeting the society with “eTwinEaster Fun”.  If you can, invite colleagues, parents, directors and guests to show them our project. Please, do not forget to take pictures of every activity.

Step nine: evaluation of the project. Children will be asked about our project activities.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to share our responsibilities in the project. Everyone should be responsible for an activity. For the beginning, we need a partner who is going to create our logo from the eggs coloured with the national flags.  I will start a blog where we can collaborate and write our school addresses for Easter card exchange.

I think that it is important to make our handmade crafts first because it will take some time for our letters to travel to each country… and we all want to have these cards before Easter.

Easter flower garden, school exhibitions and evaluation of the proejct we are going to do AFTER Easter holiday.

                              Deadlines for project activities

    Final work     eTwinEaster Fun

                  1. We are waiting to see your Easter(spring) gardens, school exhibitions and Easter books.

                  2. I will create an image folder, where you can upload JUST ONE Easter craft, named after your school to take part in an online exhibition.

                  3. Upload something to greet everybody: page Easter greetings is almost empty. You are very creative teachers, you have a lot of interesting ideas.

4.For the 10th  eTwinning anniversary we can choose between some activities proposed by eTwinning or make something else: a school exhibition, flying balloons, logo. A few pictures uploaded in our page and a short text with descriptions are enough.

                   5. For evaluating the project I have prepared questions for students and for teachers.

In the first question, students must choose between three faces and upload one on the padlet wall. There are two ways for doing this activity. I have upload the images in the project, images(students’ voting). Download the pictures on your computer and let the children upload one image by themselves(if they are big enough to do it). My children can do it. The second way(for the smallest participants) is to ask them about their choice, count the number of smiling, sleeping …faces and upload the correct number of each face, according to the number of children in your class(group). Every child should vote. We will have a padlet wall with lots of faces, without any words.

Next questions are easy to vote. You can translate questions. Children must choose one answer, then press submit. Voting will be open until the end of May.

For teachers voting is the same: with a few questions.

At the end of May, I am going to show you the results.

             6. And…we should have our common work. What shall we do? A poster with Easter greetings in our native languages?! Suggest something, please!

             7. Let’s make more Skype calls in May(we are going to finish school at the end of May). I will create a forum Skype, where you can add you Skype usernames, if you want to meet on Skype.

              8. Create a presentation to show how you integrate project activities in the curriculum.

             Yours: Irena

At the very end of our project
