TURKEY-Yunus Emre Nursery School
Game
Instructions
Seat the players other than yourself in a circle facing inward. They should be spread out enough that the gaps between them are large enough for a person to run through.
Take the handkerchief. You are now "it." Alternatively, choose a player at random to start. You can use any method to choose, such as throwing the handkerchief in the air and seeing who catches it.
Walk around the outside of the circle. The seated players may not look behind them, but should keep their hands behind their backs.
Drop the handkerchief behind the back of one of the seated players. The other players, who can see you, are not allowed to say anything. The player should try to tell whether the handkerchief has been dropped by using her hands and other senses.
Run around the circle. The player behind whose back you dropped the handkerchief will jump to her feet and pursue you.
Race around the circle to the now-vacant space. If you can get into this space, you are safe and the other player is now "it." If you get caught, you are still "it" and the other player returns to her space. If you make it all the way around the circle before the other player realizes you have dropped the handkerchief, she must sit in the center of the circle as a "dead fish."
Watch out for dead fish on future turns; they aren't out of the game and can try to get back in play using two methods: They may try to grab the handkerchief before a seated player can pick it up; the dead fish then chases the "it" player. Alternatively, a seated player may also throw the handkerchief to a dead fish, transferring the job of catching "it" to him.
Here is a sample from a primary school...
And here is the song of the play...Enjoy it :)
