The project regards modern political philosophy, the birth and development of the idea of nation, the migratory events in history and in present era, and the related origins/modifications of nations and borders as well. The project is meant to let the students find out the meaning of the basic lexicon and deepen and develop their knowledge of the topic. Students will read and discuss some excerpts from classical works in modern political philosophy (Hobbes, Locke, Montesquieu, Rousseau et al.); furthermore, they will hear and discuss some witnesses of the contemporary issue of migration, expecially toward EU countries.
