PROJECT GET READY FOR LIFE (children with special needs)
Esther Moreno y Verónica Ruiz, our colleagues from the children with special needs, developed an awesome program known as “how to be prepared for the future life”. This way, students who attend this room realized a huge number of activities, all of them addressed to encourage their personal autonomy.
With this Project it is our aim to let our students with special educational needs (ACNEE), who present a characteristical learning rhythm different from their classmates´ process, integrate different resources within their own educational Schedule. These new resources, others than those offered by current education, will help them to prepare and find their way, as far as possible, in a world which is full of difficulties and competitiveness, a presumably more difficult environment for them, once assumed their different condition.
We therefore aim to create an alternative learning situation the one typically proposed by textbooks and notebooks. We need to use the resources offered by the nearest environment (supermarkets, libraries, the university, the town hall…) so that our students can evolve to personal autonomy and social integration, being able to make decisions, create new questions, ask for information, solve concrete everyday situations, etc.
The objective of this Project is to let students become independent and learn how to develop in ordinary life.
