The Campaign aimed at enhancing students' awareness on waste reduction and recycling and cultivating their behavioural change,as well as reinforcing the message of waste reduction and proper recycling of waste. Our Eco Squad shared the ideas of waste reduction and recovery with other students and their parents who also participated in the recycling action " Toys and everyday items from recycled materials". To facilitate our school in participating the Campaign, additional recycling bins for collection of paper, plastic and metal were provided.
Waste Segregation: bottle caps - event gets started.
Our final action was making Reusable Grocery Bags. Instead of choosing paper or plastic, we sew cloth grocery bags! They're easy to sew, eco-friendly and they last for years. Plus you can make them in your own style.

There are many reasons why cycling to school is better than sitting in a car. To show it our Eco Squads organized in October the action called " BE COOL AND CHOOSE A BICYCLE". Even teachers decided to leave their cars.
At the end of October students participated in “ Bike Challenge Competition”. The event was organized by our School Bicycle Club. During the competition students could show how to handle various traffic situations and enter the street safely. This event highlighted the importance of bicycling as a fun, healthy, and safe way to get to school and around town.

Group cohesion activities
At the very beginning of the course, and in order to rich the best possible cohesion among all members of the group of students involved in this project, we organized some cohesion activities. The result was excel·lent. And we had a lot of fun. Here you have some videos and pictures.

Lesson about photography
As one of the activities our students will have to do is taking pictures of unsustainable situations, we invited the father of one of the students, who is a professional photographer to explain the basic elements to take into account in order to make a good picture. RAP workshop
Pau Llonch is probably the most well-known rapper in Catalan language. He is the leader of the group At versaris. He gave our students a workshop on RAP (7 and 15 nov.,2017). Here you can find some videos and pictures.

Our ECO SQUAD begins to act
9 November 2017. The green squad of the school "Sant Ramon Nonat" from Barcelona comes to our school to give very interesting ideas to our students who are going to act -during to project- as the green squad of our school. Before coming they sent us this video and we sent them this one. Here you have some pictures and some videos and some pictures of this event that was really special for us!
Afterwards, the paper airplanes containing ideas for sustainability used that day were used to build a mobile sculpture for the School Hall. Here you have some pictures and a video of the process and the result.

12 December 2017. Our ECO SQUAD has been preparing different actions to be done in our school and they present them to the management team of our school. Some pictures and video of the presentation.
Bottle caps
Our school has been collecting bottle caps for many years. But this year our Eco Squad organized a contest among the classes of the younger students in order to get as many cups as possible, not only to do an interesting recycling action but also to get cups enough to do our installation Art during the forthcoming Students' meeting. Here you can see, how many cups did we get, and you can also imagine how long did it take us to classify them into colors.

We prepared for them two samples of our most beloved traditions: a stick dance and a human tower. Here there are some pictures of them.
Families' meeting
Just a few days before the meeting, we met all the hosting families in order to explain them the programme of the meeting and to clarify all organizational aspects.

We say a big "Thank you" to the teachers from different areas that contributed with their ides and their time to design the exhibition.
GREECE
We participated in the European Week for Waste Reduction (18-26/11/2017) and we sent or showed the products of our actions to the municipality. We showed them a Christmas tree made of plastic and posters, sent them complaint photos of the environment, gave used batteries to a company for recycling and held a clothes bazaar where we exchanged second hand clothes. We had taken photos of all the actions and we sent them too. Polish Eco Squad in action - CLEAN AIR DAY
Nowodays air pollution is a real problem. Unlike other risks to our health, lots of people don’t know what effects is has on our bodies. Our Eco Squads decided to organize Clean Air Day in Czarna in order to raise awarnesses of our community. Here we have some pictures of this event and a video.
Turn off the lights
It takes a lot of energy to power the lights in building like our school. It’s important for us to have light when we need it, however it is important for us to be mindful and turn the lights off when we no longer need them on. Eco Squads took action and encouraged students to turn out the light by creating signs. The signs are put near light switches. Here you can find some pictures.

It's a small action but it can lead to huge water savings.
Creative ways to reuse common items
Our Eco team knows that recycling is an important issue. A lot of things that we throw out can be transformed into something else. Just look.
Toys and everyday items from recycled materials
When we create things using items from the recycled materials, it's good for the environment as well as it helps develop our imagination and creativity. Our Eco Squads organized the action." TOYS AND ITEMS FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS". We have lots of fun turning trash into toys and everyday items.
