EARTH DAY 2015 with 8.A - SOURE / PORTUGAL
As you may remember, 8.A has recently been to Buracas do Casmilo / Condeixa (Portugal) and, this week, the class was involved in another activity also aimed at promoting environmental awareness.
To mark Earth Day on April 22nd, we planted a young cypress at school. As simple as it was, it was nevertheless an educational, action-oriented activity to “green” the school facility, but, above all, it highlights our efforts to engage the class in making a difference in what concerns their attitudes towards the environment.
Though we celebrate these dates and events as a class, we would like to share them with the larger school community as well as with all of you.
We expect our actions to have a lasting positive impact and our cypress (already baptized “Shining Green”) will be our permanent reminder.
