INTERNATIONAL TEAMS WORK
All partners work with the same poems and make recordings once translated to their own language.
We start playing the recordings to the class in original version, then translated. Let pupils get a grasp of the content of the poems, and let them talk about how the poems inspire or affect them. It is important to let them use all their 'languages' in this process.
Each international team works with one poem. Their job is to make a video as it in the example:
1. Greek group makes the audio to the poem in mother language. They have the job to choose music that supports the mood and content of the poem. It can be music from any part of the world, and even self-made music. This was done in September.
2. Spanish group makes the Greek visualized poem. With a montage of art or details from art, they visualize the mood and content of the poem. It can be any type of art even self-made art pieces, drama, dance, …. The audio part of this video is the recording of the poem in the original version.
3. Greek group does the same with Spanish poem.
Do this for all teams that work together together.
Watch the videos with the whole class and talk about what you can see and hear. Let pupils give each other feedback and compare the groups in case they have worked with the same poem.
This activity requires some technical skills, so help from adults will be needed, teachers and families should be involved.
