CAREERS

  • There is no question that the machines are getting smarter. A 2015 report by the BBC said: “Boston Consulting Group predicts that by 2025, up to a quarter of jobs will be replaced by either smart software or robots, while a study from Oxford University has suggested that 35% of existing UK jobs are at risk of automation in the next twenty years."

Looking 10, 20 and 30 years into the future, where will we find work and how will we find it?

Healthcare and tech are among the fastest-growing sectors, and several well-paying jobs in those industries are primed to expand dramatically in the next decade. Demand for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) professionals and associated professionals is expected to grow by around eight percent between now and 2025. This means that Europe needs more young people to pursue STEM subjects and careers to become part of a much needed qualified workforce in the coming years.

Please use this eTwinning Page for sharing your work in class around introducing and promoting STEM careers in class, and interviewing your pupils on how they see their own future. We shall do this twice this school year, once at the beginning and at the end. In between you may want to ask your pupils to interact and share their ideas with their peers from all the partner schools.
