    September

    Icebreaker

    Foto shooting and commenting activity.

    Suggestions:

    October

    Logo Competition

    Start.

We always like this activity. Students at that point in time have enough insight into our topic and into the need to use creative commons materials to be able to gather material. Just a short introduction in the class-room to the idea of creating a logo for our project. Student will then on the logo in teams in self-organized learning time.

    November

    Practical activity in the classroom

    Self-awareness and exploring our environment.

    Suggestions:

‘Experience your body’ – students show students around the buildings blindfolded, etc. Students prepare what they could say during our video conference.

In our video conference we do a speed dating like session and exchange experiences.

November – following some other activity

    Welcome videoconference

    Follow up on class-room activity.

    Suggestions:

Speed dating and reporting on what has been experienced

Some time during the school year:

Webinar with an eye witness or report on meeting with an eye-witness

Looking at people with special needs in our past – 1933-1945.

    January / February

Hand in logo for logo competition

Shall we have some kind of award ready?

    Optional

    October, February, March

    Optional

    In class activity

Exploring a local site, institution, or watching a film.

In our case that would be that we would go and visit local places of interest and have our students write about it in a reporter like style or maybe prepare a video (though I think, there might not be enough time for a video)

There could also be another activity such as: prepare a poster, etc.

@Litsa we will do something of that anyway, you could say what fits best into your time schedule and classroom

It could also be a smaller group-work or similar. For example, there is a very touching film called ‘fog in August’ (Nebel im August) about a young boy who is abducted during the nazi period. It takes some guts to follow the story through …. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fog_in_August. Further films see under 'Movies'

    April / May

Farewell video conference or other farewell activity

    BBQ and Video conference?

Some other kind of farewell activity?

Some background information: we are planning on having a small exhibition at our school and at the Slovenian school to show posters that we have prepared during our school year, some students said, they wanted to organize a dinner in the dark to experience what it is like to eat in the dark (though this seems a bit ambition to realize the proper conditions)
