The students will choose their favourite dishes from their national cuisine and cook them independently or with the help of their family members. They will
calculate the prices according to the national and international currency;
do practical sums about proportions and percents;
make ICT presentations in native and English languages and share them with each other or their foreign partners.
AIMS
1) To choose the favourite dishes and write the recipes/ to translate them in English;
2) To take photos and record the videos;
3) To calculate the prices and determine the proportions;
4) To prepare/make the resources (e-book, film advertisement; leaflets; wall-newspaper, blog in native and English languages);
5) To Upload the recourses on the Twin space;
6) To Connect new friends;
7) To develop social and communicative abilities;
8) To develop individual working abilities;
9) To develop the abilities of solving the problems;
10) To develop the abilities of cooking and making products.
WORK PROCESS
Acquantancing with the foreign partner schools;
Making a plan;
Sharing the functions within the students according to their interests and abilities;
Identifyind the necessary period/ resources/defining presumable results;
Choosing their own favourite dishes individually and cooking them;
Taking photos or recording / shooting videos of the cooking process;
Writing the recipes in native language;
Describing the history of the dish;
Calculating the price of the dish according to the national and international currencies;
Determining the proportions or ratio;
Translating the recipe into English;
Making the presentations about the task ”my favourite family dish” and sharing it to the Twinspace;
Preparing videos with the headline ”Maths in my cuisine“ for the video contact;
Uploading the videos on the Twin space;
Making e-books of recipes and uploading them to the twinspace;
Organising the 0n-line meetings;
Eliciting the best ICT work using the web-inquire;
Making leaflets according to the best work;
Creating the blog; Writing the wall-newspaper;
The summary presentation of the project at school for all the interested people;
Organising of the summary on-line meeting and the rewarding ceremony;
Evaluation of the project.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The students will
improve writing abilities and enlarge vocabulary;
resolve practical mathematical sums about percepts and proportions;
improve the technology of translation;
improve the collaborative, individual, communicative, presentational abilities ;
improve the abilities of solving problems;
be able to prepare the dishes from their native cuisine;
learn preparing of the foreign dishes ;
study new ICT and digital-communicative instruments:
create blogs;
get acquainted with new friends;
be able to take photos and shoot sound videos;
be able to make self–assessment and assess each other.
