    Family budget

    About projekt

    The project aims to create a family budget and compare family expenditure on basic needs in countries of partner schools. Student activities lead to deal with the financial literacy, avoidance of debt problems and safe communication with the bank via the Internet. Individual outputs will be processed by students through the appropriate ICT tools.

    Aims

    The aim is to integrate the project into the education plans  in mathematics, computer science, accounting, financial mathematics and foreign languages. Students in cooperation with each other in groups will produce different outputs. They will learn to take responsibility, communicate, solve problems, present their work in front of others and evaluate themselves and others, apply their own creativity.

    Competences:

    Language skills: to be able to write text about family budget with using specific economical expressions, improving vocabulary connected with the family budget in both, english and native language as well

    Mathematical skills: making calculations of family expenses and family income

    IT skills: to be able to present information by using appropriate IT tools and to respect security protocols for sharing information via Internet

    Skill - learn to learn: to be able to use knowledge about financial mathematics in real life

    5. Family expenses – making conclusion based on answers of students and their parents  (with regard to locality, country) - March

    6. Game – dividing students into groups  -March

    7. Basic family budget - discussion with financial expert - April 

    8. Basic family budget  –  theoretical part - April

    9. Basic family budget – practical exercise. Students of each class will work together to make  a family budget (respecting  the real average income per month in particular locality) - April    

    10. Partner schools will compare the results of this exercise (budgets) with each other and evaluation based on certain criteria (set in theoretical part 8) will be made - May

    Expected results

    The result of the project should be to strengthen the knowledge and skills of students in the field of financial mathematics, the use of suitable ICT tools in the development of project materials, privacy at work on the Internet, social networks and improve communication in a foreign language. Students will promote the project activities in leaflets and presentations at school, primary school, school website, the city and among parents. At the same time comparison of family budgets in the partner countries will serve to evaluate and adapt their own requirements of young people with respect to income of parents. Based on the learned lessons they can compare the benefits of employment abroad and in their home country.
