Presentation of the worshop
These labworks allow students to understand how is easily to be spy by big brother easily. These labworks were used by Bertolucci and Livet students during the coming of italian pupils at Livet High School.It was a really good experience because we mixed italian and french together to make the job. The students realized by group of 5, some point. In order to integrate all the students, they had the possibilities to choose their activities. The studend helped with each others and they had to produce a english presentation together. Thanks to these activities, they were able to understand the interest that european students work together. They have learnt to work together even if they have sometime difficulties to speak English.
At the end, the italian studdents realized slideshows which present the different reports of their jobs at the wole group.

Lightbeam : This program permits to show you how are you spy by third part in internet.
Consospy : how your energy consumption indicate your livestyle or how each device has its own signature.
Promt command : how can you be identify thanks to IP adress, or Mac device and how datas are send through differents place of word .
Arduino : how the datas between 2 arduino cards can be intercepting b an another arduino card and how you can code your message thanks to Ceasare disk.
Presentation of the worshop
Through this lab-work,the students have found out energetic digital signature of household goods and how it is possible to know if a personn is at home or not.
The electrical energy consumption is measured by energy counters. These counters measures intensity (current) flowing the different household goods as so the voltage. Thus, thanks to these 2 parameters, it calculates the electrical power and the electrical energy. Its switch is closed each time it measures 1Wh (Watt hour) or (3600 Joules). This information is transited to the energy counter. This energy counter collects all the informations providing from all the energy meters. It counts each energetic impulsion. After, its send these data to Consospy in the first time by radio, then by internet thanks to the gateway.

On this screen, we see 3 curves. Thes curves represents electrical energy
- produced by solar panel ( green color)
- consumption energy of the classeroom ( red color)
- returned energy on te electrical grid.
The red curve allows the students to find out the consumption energy. They have learnt by themselve the notion of standby energy, peak energy, difference between energy and power. What is very interessing, this is the peak energy du to the printer. So, if crooked persons manage to sniff the internet frame, they have the possibilities to know if a person is present or not on the room. Imagine, a fridge give a periodic energy signature when nobody is at home. As soon as a person open the fridge, the electrical energy signature change, informing thus, the presence of a person at home. The crooked persons can rob the house thank to this system.
