Evaluating the project.

 

Our project was a great opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas concerning books and libraries, both between the students and the teachers.That was, after all, one of the main goals of the project.

As long as it concerns its other goals, we think that we met most of them, because our students were encouraged and finally visited the school library and borrowed books. They read them and they discovered the depth of europen literature through time. The themes of the books and the activities done were shared with every school community, so everyone (teachers, puplis, other school stuff and parents) knew that "something was going on" in the school library.

Moreover, pupils were excited to get involved in the Library, either as assistant librarians or members and got familiar with its functions. Some of them (especially some senior students of 2nd Lyceum Evosmou) are considering of following the job of librarian in their adult lives.

One other important aspect of the project wich was met was the improvement of the language skills. Communication was held both in English and Greek, which is not a very common currently spoken language. On behalf of the two Greek schools (2nd Lyceum Evosmou and 1st Vocational Lyceum Evosmou) we want to thank the Spanish colleague, Mrs Mercedes Ortiz Ortiz, for her great job and her passion at the dissemination of the Greek language (both Ancient and Modern). Due to the project, many students became friends and they continue their communication and after the end of the school year (through the popular social media of Facebook and Instagram).

We wanted to continue our cooparation, so we applied for an Erasmus+ project. Unfurtunately our application was not accepted this year, but we are not "giving up": we are going to apply again next year and until then we'll continue with a new eTwinning project.

We are going to seek for other partners too, as (and this was one miscarriage) one of the school-partners (Liceo Classico Statale  "T. Campanella" from Regio, Italy) dropped very soon, although we started very hopefully. We are going to use more the Twin Space platform and its tools, as some of them (i.e.  Forums and Live)  were somehow new to us and we were not familliar with them.
