Outdoor learning
Thematic trips (near to school- in the communitie)
We decided that around us are a lot of treasures that we must found, understand and show to others too. The community is close to us and we can do thematic trips to look for interesting material to show others. Through interesting things I mean : statues, monuments, churches, castles and plants, leaves, people, stones, trees ... anything can be full of meaning, and explain why that element is important to us.
If it is possible: Activities can be conducted by the support of Geography and history teachers. They will presente geographical areas, monuments Students will take pictures. Each student can choose one thing and explain it, or say why what can be important .
To make this activity more interesting we can:
-We can choose to teach a lesson outdoor(students can create poetry, they can learn to use artistic language in relation to reality, a lesson of geography or history, drawing, etc.)
- send photos to partners and they can say what they feel, what they think about them, a sort of brainstoarming.
So,the photos will be sent to partners. We use foto voice method to discuss the photos sent by partners in workshops. Students will express their feelings and thoughts about the images received. The same images may move in a circle and may be considered by many students. In the classroom with video projector we can project images on the wall. Students will see and they will know more many interesting elements/places and will do an exercise of imagination.
