About the Project

  • Georg a teddy bear is living at Gymnasium Georgianum Hildburghausen. He has participated in several projects and got cloned to be with all his friends at the same time.

Now, as his last brother has moved to Portugal, Georg feels lonely. This project unites some of the teddy bears given as presents to partners in several projects in a new, different project: an exchange of virtual postcards.

The project promotes communication between partners. In the course of the school year Georg’s brothers will inform him about what’s going on in the partner schools, and Georg will report from home. Students will exchange information on schools, curricular and extracurricular activities, life of students, geography, history, etc. This exchange of information will take place in the form of virtual postcards with text or sound.

    Work process

All partners will collaborate in planning and executing the project. The founders organise the Twinspace and keep all partners in contact. Communication will mainly be carried out on Twinspace, Facebook and e-mail.

The project will be organised like a collection of virtual postcards. These postcards can be photos, cartoons, drawings. The message can be delivered in writing or using audio files with the images. For that students use several web tools like makebeliefscomix , fotobabble, buncee, Voki, YouTube, Photopeach, etc.

In the course of the project we will organise collaborative activities:

The final products of the project will be a public Twinspace with all postcards, a Facebook page and an ebook with the best postcards, and a Storify, summing up all the products and dissemination activities.

    Evaluation

All the informal feedback we get from pupils, partners, parents, other teachers and visitors is important to us in order to reflect about our activities and about the ways we are running them. After each school term we ask "evaluation considerations" to pupils, partners and parents.

We believe that ongoing assessment will lead us to a very good final evaluation.
