HOW HAS ROME INFLUENCED YOUR CITY?

HISTORICAL CONTEXT

Rome, a little city in the middle of the Italic Peninsula, conquered every territory around the Mediterranean sea. 

Around 753 BC the history of Rome begins, with the creation of the city of Rome.

In the VI century the etruscan were expelled and founded the Rome republic. In 218 BC, the Romans arrived at the Iberic Peninsula during the second Punic War. 

They conquer the peninsula slowly, naming it “Hispania”. 

Teodosio, Adriano and Trajano were some emperors borned in the Iberic Peninsula. 

The art, the cities and the creation of the first coins, were an important way of hispanization.

ROMAN BATHS 

The roman baths are seen from the high square, and they were discovered some years ago. You can appreciate the ruins and how they looked when they were active. Close to the square there is a poster which explains everything we can see.
