Maths in Music and Dance

twinspace-logo

The current project builds on the theoretical framework that incorporates Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences to enhance teaching and use music and kinesthetic ( dance) as a medium to provide a rich and emotionally stimulating mathematical learning framework. It is well known that many students have difficulty understanding mathematical terms and operations. Thus, teachers should consider the use of alternative ways of presenting ideas that can facilitate students' conceptual understanding. Integrating music and dance activities into teaching mathematics can help develop students' mathematical understanding and provide students with a pleasurable experience of developing logical / mathematical intelligence related to musical / rhythmic intelligence. As a result, students with less logical-mathematical intelligence can find it easier learn mathematics using other skills. Key words: Mathematics, music, project, creativity, experiential learning
