Journeys of hope: Educational pathways to social inclusion and tolerance

Europe is facing the greatest refugee crisis since the World War II. About 1 million refugees and migrants arrived in the EU in 2015, Europol estimates, 27% of these are children. This means that the future school population of the EU will be increasingly characterized by multiple cultures and values.

    Europe State Award 2017


    The project “Jouneys of Hope” 2016 - 1 - AT01 - KA219 - 016660 – co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union – was nominated by the Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs for the European State Award 2017.
    Based on an initiative launched by Sebastian Kurz, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, the Europe State Award will be awarded for the third year in succession.
    The Europe State Award of the Federal Republic of Austria honours extraordinary commitment by citizens and organizations that promote greater European awareness and understanding of Europe. The European State Award, which is awarded for the third time this year, goes back to an initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs (BMEIA) and is endowed with 10.000 Euros.
