World Heritage Sites are cultural or natural sites of outstanding universal value, which are important across countries and generations. The idea of preserving sites that needed to be saved for the good of all humanity was born in the 1950s, with the task of preserving Egypt's Abu Simbel temples, which were in danger of being destroyed, and has continued, with the addition of sites all over the world, till present day. The aim of this project is for students to acknowledge the importance of preserving our heritage, even if its is not considered to be a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
