FULLREMOVAL

In regards to the „Science is wonderful“ project we decided to invest in the project FULLREMOVAL, which tries to find a way for uns to live more sustainable.
Antibiotics used to treat bacterial diseases end up in urine and feces. Therefore, they enter sewage treatment plants, where the inflowing water is cleaned by so-called biological purification. Some bacteria clean the water, but high concentrations of antibiotics can find mechanisms - resistance genes - to fight them. FULLREMOVAL is a project by Fatima Rojas Serrano, a MSCA postdoctoral fellow at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research. It wants to find out if a process called ultrafiltration can remove these genes from clean water and prevent antibiotic resistance genes from spreading in the environment.

Sincerely I did not expect these results . I am quite shocked and I feel guilty . From this test it appears that I consume too much and from now on I will commit myself to consume less.

Reducing the ecological footprint is not easy, because the population is growing more and more, the arable land is decreasing, hectares and hectares of forests are being destroyed every year, the seas are increasingly polluted and temperatures are rising. What can we do to reduce the problem?

My carbon footprint result is 4.95. When we think about it for our country, it is close to the average, but it is higher than the target figure in the world.In order to reduce my carbon use, I will take care to use public transportation more and save money.

While doing the test ı didn't think the result would be this high. This is terrible. I wish ı could be more eco friendly but it is very difficult right now. Being able to use renewable energy is a luxury when everything is already expensive. For all that, I try to use public transportation and do not waste energy.

I did not expect such a result. I actually saw myself as a less polluting person, but I wasn't. My carbon footprint is 13.8. When we look at our own country, it is too much. I will consume less now.
