Rules of Netiquette and use of material free of copyright

  • Here are some Netiquette rules of behaviour on the Internet and on the TwinSpace for students and teachers:

    1. Remember the human part of everything.

Remember that all of us are humans and don't do anything you wouldn't like you to be done.

    2. Behaviour as in real life.

Follow the same behaviour rules as in real life, taking respect as the most important value of all.

    3. Take care of your language.

Mind the way you talk to others and the words you use. Remember that everybody is from different countries and not all the expressions can have the same meaning in all cultures.

    4. Respect others' time.

Remember to say or send messages when they are really important.

    5. Be kind to others.

Remember to use words and expressions politely and kindly.

    6. Share knowledge.

Remember that the TwinSpace is a shared space where we put in common all we know in order to help others and the same way we will be helped when needed.

    7. Avoid confrontations.

Try to come to agreements and avoid to start arguments with others.

    8. Respect others privacy.

If you share the tablet or computer with other people, don't read their messages and log out of those sessions whenever is possible using only your own session.

    9. Don't make power abuse.

If you are an ICT expert, that doesn't give you power to bully other people.

    10. Forgive others mistakes.

All of us are humans and are learning about using new technologies, so please be patient and try to help others when needed, they will be really grateful to you.

Use of material free of copyright:

Teachers and students are really aware of the importance of using free copyright material in our project activities, such us: music for the videos, images for the videos, etc.

For this reason, we have come to an agreement to follow some commitment statements when we use materials from the Internet, that are the ones that follow:

I am aware that I can use at most 30 seconds of the music, lyrics from an individual musical work.

I know that I shouldn’t use more than five images from one artist or photographer.

I know what “ FAIR USE” is.

I will try to use educational materials provided by international institutions.

I am not allowed to use the materials / outcomes for commercial purposes.

I am allowed to share the materials / outcomes of this project in educational platforms.

I won’t use the outcomes of this project in another projects without the permission of all partner teachers.

It is my responsibility to determine whether a copyright permission is necessary or not.

We have also created a list of websites from where we can download free copyright material in order to use them safely in our activities.
