HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTATION: IES TIERRAS DE ABADENGO
Hello! My name is Javier, I’m 17 years old and I’m studying Year 12 at high school Tierras de Abadengo in Lumbrales.
Lumbrales is a village located in the west part of the province of Salamanca and it is next to Portugal. It is the main village of the region of Abadengo, a rural area that is included in the Natural Park of Las Arribesdel Duero.
Our high school is a state school and it was opened on 1st July 1997. Today, there are around 100 students who come from Lumbrales and other villages nearby. Two academic stages are taught at the school: the first stage comprises Compulsory Secondary Education with one group per course, and the second stage which corresponds to A level studies, Year 12 and Year 13, having one group per course and two different modalities: Science and Social Science and Humanities.
The building is really nice and it offers different facilities: seven classrooms, two computer rooms, one audiovisual room, two science laboratories, specific classrooms for music and languages, rooms for scholar reinforcement and therapeutic pedagogy, an outdoor playground and a covered pavilion.
