Short Explanation About the Activity:

                   In this activity, the students have worked as mixed country teams. The main aim is to reveal the facts about how to understand whether the information, reached via media is correct or not. Firstly, our students have searched the net for the news. Then, we have met on a zoom meeting as team 2 and made a discussion on the gathered information. If it is possible to find the source of the knowledge or if the necessary details such as date and place are given clearly, then it can be said that the information is correct. We had better check who has published the source, the purpose of the source, when it is created/updated, and its content. Also we need to see if it has any potential bias and, if a webpage, provides references or reliable links to other sources. We have investigated two different news: one is from Turkish media and the other is from the Italian media. Not only our students but we, as teachers also learned a lot during this activity. We will be more careful about the accuracy and reliability of an information on media sources.
