POLAND - PRESENTATION 1 - OUR COUNTRY

  •

    WELCOME TO OUR PRESENTATION!

    Hello Pen Pals,
This is a series of drawings made by our first and second-graders. They decided to show you the Polish map, flag, symbols and their favourite attractions.

The drawing was made by Wiktoria (grade 1b)

First, this is the map of Poland - you can see the longest river - Wisła (in English: the Vistula). Julia (grade 2a) drew our spot on the Polish map - in the middle, a but to the south: The Holy Cross Mountains with our local landmark Mount Holy Cross with the old monastery complex.

Here's a map of Poland with some extra information - made by Julia S (grade 2a):

The poster shows the map of Poland with its regions. Our region is in the southern part of Poland. Around the poster you can see our regional attractions - going clockwise:

    - the Oak Bartek (more than 1000 years old),

    - ruins of once a great castle in Ujazd,

    - our local landmark - Mount Holy Cross with the mediaeval monastery complex,

    - defensive walls in Szydłów...

    - ...and the Museum of Toys in Kielce.

THE FLAG AND THE COAT OF ARMS OF POLAND

Our flag is white and red and the colours relate to the Polish coat of arms - the white eagle on the red background.

Konrad (grade 1a) is presenting the coat of arms:

A lot of children wanted to show our flag.

This flag was painted by Nicholas (grade 1b)

WARSAW - THE CAPITAL CITY OF POLAND

One of Warsaw symbols is the mermaid of Warsaw (serenka). In the background Lena drew the Warsaw Old Town:

Amelia drew the mermaid too (grade 1b)...

...and so did Antosia (grade 1a)...

    ...and Ola (grade 1b):

THE PREVIOUS CAPITAL OF POLAND - CRACOW (KRAKÓW)

One of the most popular symbols of Kraków is SMOK WAWELSKI = WAWEL DRAGON. The dragon is said to live in a cave under the Wawel Castle Hill and the best part about it is the real possibility of seeing the dragon and visiting his cave.

Filip G. is warning you that the dragin can breathe fire! Watch out! (grade 2a)

GOING ON HOLIDAY - THE BALTIC SEASIDE

A lot of families spend their summer holidays at the seaside. Here Nela showed us a happy supper memory:

It turned out the seaside lighthouses are very popular among our children.
Dominik drew the lighthouse from Jarosławiec:

Also Lena KO (grade 2a) drew a lighthouse:

Julia Z  drew a lighthouse, too (grade 2a):

    FOOD IN POLAND

Finally, a special recommendation from Antoni (grade 1b) -
when you come to Poland, our dumplings - "pierogi" are a must:

    Enjoy!!!
