About the project
This is a project by which we are marking Pythagorean Theorem Day that is going to be celebrated on 16th December, 2020.
Beside that celebration, our students are going to learn much about Pythagora himself and his associates and about applications of Pythagorean theorem.
Aims
Students are going to:
- learn more about Greek Mathematics
- learn more about Pythagora and his associates
- learn to use and apply Pythagorean Theorem in various sciences as well as in real life situatuions
- communicate with their peers
- work together with their peers
- learn to use ICT in presenting their work
Work process
- assemble a team of teachers and students
- have a brief work on a project's logo
- explore about Pythagoras life
- explore about Pythagorean Theorem (use and applications)
- organize The Evening of Mathematics with main theme: Pythagorean Theorem
- make postcards
- exchange greeting postcards for Pythagorean Theorem Day with partners (virtually)
- celebrate Pythagorean Theorem Day (16/12/2020)
- continue exploring about Greek Mathematics combined with Greek Phylosophy and Antic schools
- assemble all students work virtually and alive through exhibitions
- present work publicly in school
Expected results
Students will:
- learn a lot about Pythagora and about appliance of his theorem
- learn about Greek mathematics and mathematicians
- learn to cooperate with their peers
- communicate in English
- learn to use new ICT tools
Their work will be presented on pages of this site and will be viewable to everyone.
