Social Xclusion during the covid-19 pandemic

We are facing a global health crisis unlike any other in human history- one that is killing people, spreading human suffering, and upending people’s lives. But this is much more than a health crisis. It is a human, economic and social crisis. Social exclusion is the process in which individuals are blocked from various rights, opportunities and resources that are normally available to members of a different group, and which are fundamental to social integration and observance of human rights. The outcome of social exclusion is that affected individuals or communities are prevented from participating fully in the economic, social, and political life of the society in which they live. Unfortunately, since the onset of 2020 almost all countries have faced a lockdown in the outbreak of the coronavirus disease, which has affected all segments of the population and has been particularly detrimental to the youth.
