Project Guidelines

  • PROJECT GUIDELINE

    STEP 1

That's what I think I should do to start the process:

    1. Tell the students.

    2. Let their parents know about the project and sign a document saying that they agree on it and that we are going to use personal information as well as images.

    3. Once steps 1 and 2 are done: (Ideas)

    • Tell them the first task and what/how they have to do.

    • Give a name to the magazine.

    • Give each one a task to do and a deadline.

    • Structure of the first magazine:

    • Cover (2-3 students)

    • Summary/Contents (teacher)

    • Editorial (The first issue, the teacher: presenting the project and the schools involved in it, opinion about it, and so on).

    • Articles / Briefs / Portfolio template pages: (students)

    • Article nº1: with a group picture of the classroom, naming people, general interests, …

    • Article nº 2/3/4/ …: some students introduce themselves and talk about their likes , interests, family, music, .. (Might be individual or pair work)

    • Article nº5/6/7/...: School: information about school: facilities, number of students, studies, ... / Interview to some of their teachers/headmaster/head of studies/ tutors / parents? giving opinions about the project and more, ../

    • Article nº 8/9/10/... : Towns. My students come from different nearby towns. So more information to write about.

    • Full Page Visual: we can include some of the inside the magazine and as the back cover. They might be different kind of pictures (school, students, teachers, funny pictures, etc.)

    4. As I said before, we can give students the collaborator link, so they can work on their own, and not cause typical problems such as eliminating or removing other students' piece of work. It might happen if we give them the username and password of our madmagz account.

At the same time, we are also creating some kind of “suspense” and “intrigue” in the final product. So, every magazine will be a real surprise to everyone!! Does it make sense to you??

Of course, open to new ideas and comments!!

    STEP 2

Proposals of title and logo for the magazine.

To add two pages: Magazine title and magazine Logo in which every school has to upload their proposal in relation to these topics. We have to vote for the best ones.

    STEP 3

    • Students read their peer profiles and interact.
    • Students start chatting and exchanging information and opinions.
