A survey for teachers was created with the aim to determine the Internet resources that can be used in mathematics and science teaching and can be included in the e-catalogue. The survey was created using Google survey resource.
In order to achieve data, so as to make a catalogue concerning the web-sites which are more frequently used in the process of teaching/learning math and scientific disciplines, a survey has been made questioning the European teachers. The questionnaire, initially devised in Italy, has later been enhanced with suggestions and contributions by the different partners of our project. Therefore, to make a thorough comprehension of the text clear, the questionnaire has been drawn up in English and translated in the different idioms of the countries which participate in the project. Besides, to speed up the process of achieving data and spreading information, an on-line questionnaire has been issued. The English version of the questionnaire has been made available for consultation in the “Twinspace site” of the project, while the different national coordinators have been charged to spread the necessary information in their native country. Besides the teachers of the different Schools which participate in the project, other teachers have been involved and asked to contribute to the survey, either being personally contacted by National Teacher Associations or by the cooperation of the local Departments of the Education Superintendencies. The data and the results, so far achieved, have not matched the expectations. In numerous instances the teachers have actually replied that there is not such a widespread utilization –whereas a rare approach to the use -- of web-sites concerning scientific disciplines. Therefore, both the subject-matter and the questions submitted have not met the support of the interviewed. However, sufficient data have been achieved, esp. as regards mathematics, to start planning a catalogue. Upon further consideration, some improvements could be arranged. For instance, the modalities of approach and utilization of each web-site could, and should be subject of further analysis. Therefore, to make an accurate catalogue a new research could be made, investigating specifically the modalities concerning the approach, the consultation, and the didactic utilization of the web-sites which have been mentioned and identified in the previous survey.
Teacher survey obtained 304 links to different online resources that can be used in teaching. In the survey Croatian partners participated the most actively(162 links). In the result there were obtained 69 links in English for various educational purposes, which will help participants in a project to create the catalogue of links in mathematics and science.
