I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. 14 Pułku Powstańców śląskich
Wodzisław Śląski, Poland
Hello everyone!
We are students from class 2B4 and our form teacher, Dominika Sidor. Our main subjects are Mathematics, Geography and English. We are happy to be in the project!
We all go to I Liceum Ogólnokształcące, a high school which is over 70 years old.
I Liceum Ogólnoksztalcące im. 14 Pułku Powstańców Śląskich ( 1st High School named after 14th Regiment of Silesian Insurgents) in Wodzisław Śląski is the oldest comprehensive school in the area, situated in the southern Poland in the province of Silesia, close to borders of Czechia and Slovakia. In the past, the area hosted lots of nationality groups (Polish, Czech, German, Jewish, Roms). Even now, it is a little homeland of people of Silesian and non-Silesian origin: of those who speak the dialect and of those who don’t. The school teaches 644 students and employs 51 teachers. Students are divided into classes which are profiled according to their interests, class for humanities, maths and physics (IT), biology and chemistry and geography and languages. Although the school does not have SEN specialising classes, more and more students with disabilities want to pursue their education, because of the good school facilities, high standard of education and a friendly atmosphere.
The school is located in Wodzisław Śląski, a town which is 760 years old.
Wodzisław Śląski is a town in the south-eastern part of Upper Silesia, now in Silesian Voivodeship in south Poland, within the south portion of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin. It borders the towns of Pszów, Radlin and villages Marklowice, Mszana, Godów, Gorzyce and Lubomia. It lies between the Vistula and Oder rivers, near Czech border in the foreground Moravian Gate. Several rivers flow through the city, the major two being the Leśnica and "Zawadka" rivers. Within 600 km (373 mi) of Wodzisław Śląski are the capital cities of six countries: Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Bratislava, Budapest and Warsaw.
GREETINGS FROM LITHUANIA (NERINGA)
Unseen Lithuania - a country of greenery and unpredictable weather within a year.
Here we are - Neringa Gymnasium
We are surrounded by waters (the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic sea). Inspired by nature and its gifts. Have you ever seen a double rainbow?
What's the weather for today - will never know. If it is sunny in here, the other part of Lithuania is rainy or vice versa. The longest days and still starry nights in the Curonian spit today.
