Preparing the video of the sample speaking test

  • Teachers from the Czech Republic recorded two sample videos of students who took part in the speaking test. They chose the students at a different level to demonstrate the procedure of the speaking tests as well as assessment of these students. The videos of sample speaking tests serve as a demonstration and help for teachers who want to test the students´ speaking according to a certain standart.

Speaking Assessment Guide (coming soon) is a tool for teachers who want to rank their students into the appropriate speaking level. It came out from the lack of standardized speaking tests, identified by groups of teachers from four different countries (the Czech Republic, Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria), working on an Erasmus+ project, Let Us Speak, aiming to develop and improve students´ speaking level and verbal interaction and lower their fear of speaking. The authors wish to have and offer a new unified assessment system of speaking skill for Primary Schools in accordance with the CEFR for Languages. So, they created Speaking Assessment Guide as a manual for applying the tests gathered in The Book of Speaking Tests, a collection of 24 speaking tests for students at A2 level.

We would like to thank to Adéla Nogová, Petr Durstin, Tereza Jestřábová and Aleš Krejčí, the students who agreed to record the sample video of them.
