Croatia is a small country with many interesting and beautiful places, which attract many tourists every year. Its capital is Zagreb, located in the north.

In the month of the book from 15.10-15.11., we play with Glagolitic letters/we make bookmarks/we write our name in Glagolitic
Parents and their child worked together on a home project about a field trip in Zagreb, which then the child presented to his friends in his group
The Zagreb Zoo was founded on the 27th of June 1925.

One boy visited with his parents The Brijuni Island and he made with his family a poster as a home project .
The Brijuni Island are located in the south of western Istrian coast.
Brijuni was declared the National Park in 1983.
The largest of the islands is Veliki Brijun.
The most famous among the Brijuni flora is the Old Olive,one of the oldest on the Mediterranean.
It still produces olives for making olive oil even after 1600 years of its life.
Apart from the native species such as the rabbits or various birds , one can seen exotic and less exotic animals including deer,zebra or an elephant.
There are numerous dinosaur footprints on Brijuni proving their existence on the island some 160 milion years ago.
We marked the month of the Croatian book by introducing the children to the Old Croatian Glagolitic alphabet.
We learned about protected forest animals in Croatia.
Wolf - is protected by law since 1995.
Wolfs inhabit parts of Lika,Gorski kotar and Dalmatia.
Brown Bear - is distributed in Lika and Gorski kotar.
Lynx - is the largest cat living in Europe.
No more then 40 to 60 individuals still live in the areas of Lika,Gorski kotar and Ćićarija.

RIJEKA is the 3rd largest city in Croatia and largest port famous of Carnival and ' ZVONČARI ' - ' THE BELLRINGERS' which chase away the evil spirits of winter.
LOŠINJ island is known for dolphins . The Lošinj dolphin community is small , the estimated number is around 200 individuals.
KRK iSLAND is known for ' BAŠČANSKA PLOČA ' - old Slavic monument

SINJSKA ALKA - is a chivalric tournament that takes place anually, as it has since 1717,in the town Sinj.
During the contest ,knights ride horses at full gallop along a main street ,aiming lances at an iron ring hanging on a rope .
MARKO POLO - was a Venetian merchant ,writer ,traveler and explorer.
The exact location of the birth of Marko Polo is unclear and is still subject of speculation.
Some claim that he was born in the town of Korčula on the island Korčula.
(which was then part of the Venetian Republic )
MOREŠKA - is a traditional sword dance from the town of Korčula.
DUBROVNIK - The walls of Dubrovnik are a series of defensive stone walls surrounding the city. The walls are 1940 meters long with six fortresses.
Dubrovnik is included in the World Herritage list from UNESCO since 1979.
Dubrovnik is a top destination ,especially after beeing a filming location for world popular TV show - Game of Thrones.

Hrvatsko Zagorje is the nort-west region of Croatia.Hrvatsko Zagorje includes areas around Krapina and Vraždin as well as outskirts of Zagreb the capital of Croatia
KRAPINA- as a town has been known since early 12th century. In late 19th century on a hill called Hušnjak, in vicinit of Krapina, the archaeologist and paleontologist Dragutin Gorjanović Kramberger found over eight hundred fossil(Krapinski pračovjek)remains belonging to NEANDERTHALS.
VARAŽDIN- the city of angels, colourful and magical events, the most famous ones Špancirfest- the Street Festival of good emotions i summer and the classical music festival
