    Glitter Words

    • Introduction phase to find out about intelligences (test on which intelligence we are). (Languages)
    • Teachers decide tasks.
    • ABOUT US: students say some info about themselves - age, name, things they like or don´t like. (VOKI, WMM, drawings, photos, videos, recordings, powerpoint presentions) (Communication in partner languages, ICT, languages)
    • SAYING HELLO in partner languages: (jibjab, imagechef, video makers, photos, Photovisi, drawings, recordings) (Collaboration: learning words in partner languages, Communication, ICT, languages).
    • FEELINGS: 
      • Each student expresses their feelings (Collaboration: photos of our feelings and children from other countries guess, languages, ICT, art and music). 
      • Drama: students represent feelings in drama (Collaboration: partners guess the feelings, Art and Music, languages)

     

    • MR. SMARTIE- Who is Mr. Smartie? (Collaboration in choosing our mascot, ICT, Art).
      1. Each partner school designs Mr. Smartie and shares.
      2. We vote for the best Mr. Smartie picture on Twinspace.
      3. Final winner presentation.

     

    Glitter Words

    • INTERNATIONAL TEAM PHASE:  We make 10 International Teams. Students choose a name for their team, write it on the correspondent padlet wall (one padlet wall for each team) and vote with AnswerGarden to decide on the names of their teams. (Collaboration- deciding team name, ICT, languages)
    • LEARNING EACH OTHERS : Children learn a little bit about  their friends.  They learn how to use an email, how to write in the chat room and they talk to each other in Skype meetings (chat - email - live section- Skype). They also make videos, asking and answering questions about themselves, in order to interact with their Greek friends who can't skype. (Communication, ICT, languages)
    • WORKING TOGETHER:  Children work together with GLOGSTER. They create online multimedia posters working in teams. (Collaboration- making poster using ICT, Art, languages)
    • FESTIVALS & GREETINGS
      • XMAS CARDS ACTIVITIES: Students make Xmas Cards to send to their partners (communication) languages, ICT, art)
      • SKYPE MEEETING. children sing Xmas song in their language and in partner language wishing Merry Xmas to their partners. (Communication and collaboration in learning and teaching carolls, Music, languages, ICT).

     

    Glitter Words

    • OUR SURROUNDINGS: students investigate around their school to show and describe their surroundings to their international teams. They express themselves in any artistic way possible (make a video, take photos, make a model, use LEGO, draw a picture, make a map,...). Then they share the results with their teams on the corresponding padlet. (Communication, ICT, ART, languages, history)
    • ARTISTS in each partner countries: Students investigate about three most famous partners in their countries. They prepare questions for the partners and quizzes. (Art, communication, ICT, history)
    • LOOKING OUT OF THE WINDOW CONTEST: students participate in a voluntary contest. They make a video of what they see out of the window. (languages, ICT). Then we vote for the best video using online POll. (Collaboration: voting)

      • Mr. Smartie the Traveller: This activity resulted as an action Spanish students undertook. Spain created Mr. Smartie. They made him our of recycled fabric, and created a series of messages in the countries languages as well as riddles for the partners. They send them to the partner countries. Each country then added another piece of clothing on Mr. Smarties, solved the riddles and added theirs. 

    Glitter Words

    • LOGIC AND CULTURE: Students teach their partners a few things about the culture of their countries: famous painters and paintings, famous architects and their creations, famous historic monuments. Then, they prepare on line games for their partners, such as hangman, crossword, quiz and puzzle to have their partners both exercise their brain and at the same time figure out what they have learnt about their partners' culture. (Collaboration: creating ICT games for the partners to solve and play, Maths, History, Geography, languages)
    • LOGIC/MATH: Students work out their brain playing online educational games from www.mathplayground.com (Maths, ICT)
    • SKYPE MEETINGS: In skype meetings we play hangman with words related to the artists we learned about. (Comunication and collaboration: working togehter to solve hangman, languages, ICT).
    • CHAT: Students exchange riddles and they try to solve them.(ICT, languages)
      • Mr. SMARTIE the Traveller: Mr. Smartie is travelling from one country to another and he carries a series of riddles or games for each partner to solve. Results are shared on Mr. Smartie page. Games and riddles will then be put into a riddles book (ebook or paper).(Collaboration: creating riddles books, languages, ICT).

    • WORD SMART: writing a story together (Collaboration, languages, ICT, art)
      • 1. Partners propose names for characters we can have in our story.
      • 2. Partners vote for the characters for our story in AnswerGarden.
      • 3. Partners follow a rota system to write a part of the story, using the characters  voted the most. Greece starts, Spain continues, Poland continues and Italy finishes. 
      • 4. Partners vote for the title of the story.
      • 5. Partners draw pictures that accompany the story and prepare comprehension questions (older students).
      • 6. An eBook is created or  a real book that could be included in partner libraries.
    • NATURE SMART: learning about flora and fauna in each partner country. (languages, science, PE)
      • Each partner country investigates the fauna and flora in their country. They can prepare word documents or PPTs with the information.
      • They take photos, make videos, posters, pictures and share them on the Twinspace and in a common voicethread.
      • Each partner country comments on the voicethread created by the other partners.
      • Each partner creates and answers questions using Learning Apps. 
    • SKYPE: we play hangman about partners fauna and flora.
      • As a result of this actitity, ITALIAN students came up with an idea of a chant as the ending of the story. We used this chant in our next smart.

    • CULTURE and TRADITIONS (music and art, languages, PE, collaboration: teaching and learning partner songs)
      • Students learn a song in their own language then they teach the song chorus in a Skype meeting. All the children  sing together in skype.
      • Students learn a traditional dance of their own country. 
      • Students make a tutorial and show how to dance to their partner.
      • Partners learn partner countries dances, make a video and share it on twinspace.
    • MUSIC & WORDS (music, languages)
      • Children learn how to create a rhythmic sequence using Incredibox (online App)
      • Children improve their English working with a chant then they put the chant into a rap using the new incredibox mix
    •  EVALUATION: (languages, ICT)
      • ​Students evaluate the project in video, stating 2 stars and 1 wish (two things we liked and 1 we can improve).
      • Students fill in online questionnaire (Google docs).
      • Padlet: teachers evaluate the project in a padlet
      • teachers create final wiki with project's results
      • teachers create a final document about the use of skype
      • optional: parents are recorded evaluating the project
    • DISSEMINATION: each partner school chooses the way to disseminate the results throughout the year. 
      • we use school blogs and social media to inform about our project
      • we prepare a final day for the local community at the end of the project.
